About Traci Bliss
Traci Bliss, an emerita professor of education, served as a policy advisor to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards during her academic career. In that context, she received national and international awards for her documentary films of accomplished teachers. Bliss retired early to write the untold stories of women who made a significant contribution to Santa Cruz County, especially the environment. Her BA, MA and PhD degrees are from Stanford and she holds an MPA from the LBJ School, University of Texas at Austin. Her 4th great grandparents settled in Santa Cruz in the 1840s and donated the land for Evergreen Cemetery.
